01 / Data and team handover

We increased a nature app’s database by over 600%.

We brought together over 7,700 places across the UK, with location details, descriptions, facilities and images.

Places and the details people need to plan a visit.

The starting point

The app needed a more complete collection of places for people to explore. Useful information was scattered across sources, with different levels of detail.

What we did

We brought the information into one national database and handed it over to the client. Workshops helped their team build the skills and confidence to manage it themselves.

What changed

The client had a much larger collection of places to work with, organised for use in the app, with support to take over its ongoing management.

Where this can help your business When useful information is spread across files, websites or systems, the work is bringing it into a form your team can use and maintain.

02 / AI search and data systems

From a land requirement to sites worth investigating.

Describe what you are looking for, review potential matches and check the details behind each result.

A brief becomes potential matches to review and investigate. Plot names and locations have been changed to protect proprietary data.

The starting point

Development land is advertised across many agency websites. Finding opportunities means gathering listings and working out which ones may fit a particular requirement.

Our contribution

Our work includes the underlying systems, user-facing tools and research, alongside collaborative development of the app.

This work comes from our founder’s role as co-founder, AI Systems Architect and Head of Research at Ortelias.

What it enables

A search brief leads to potential matches that users can review as a list or on a map, then investigate through the original listings.

Where this can help your business Make a large body of information easier to search, compare and check, so your team can focus its attention on the options worth investigating.

Reporting, research and content.

Client reporting

Around two working days a month back for a senior leader.

Less time pulling reports together, more time acting on what they tell you.

Our reporting work helped a senior leader save around four hours a week. The value is time released from recurring preparation, so they can focus on the decisions the report supports.

See the information together, then decide what needs attention.

Investment research

We helped a client focus their investment, saving up to two weeks of manual research.

We combined their proprietary data with messy open data to help them compare opportunities and shape their investment portfolio.

The work gave the client a way to investigate opportunities together, using information that had previously been difficult to bring into one view.

Compare opportunities before deciding where to focus.

Lectern

We give senior managers and partners a day and a half a month back from creating content that supports lead generation.

Lectern turns short conversations in the gaps between meetings into posts in their own voice, ready for them to review and share.

41% more LinkedIn post impressions for Ortelias. We used Lectern to turn specialist expertise into content that reached a wider audience.

The person supplies their experience and judgement through conversation. Lectern develops a draft they can check and edit, reducing the effort of starting from a blank page.

From spoken ideas to a draft in the author’s voice.

Checking the detail.
Keeping work moving.

Bid checker

Find claims that need stronger evidence before a bid is submitted.

Bid teams need to know which claims they can support. We built a checker that puts each claim beside its evidence, helping reviewers spot missing sources, outdated information and comparisons that need a baseline.

See the claim, the supporting material and what needs checking next.

What it helps your team doFocus review time on claims that need attention, with the supporting evidence beside them.

Six everyday workflows

Move routine work forward and bring the exceptions to a person.

We built workflows for invoices, enquiries, delivery handovers, meeting actions, service requests and content reviews. They handle routine steps and hold unclear items for someone to check.

Testing across 71 cases checked that distinction. The customer benefit is a clearer queue of what has been handled and what still needs a decision.

Data health monitor

See which data feeds are fresh, late or stopped.

Reports and tools depend on data arriving when expected. A quiet failure can leave a team working with an incomplete or outdated picture.

Our experience includes building and running a weekly monitor that checks the health of Ortelias’ data feeds. It brings the checks into one view so the team can see where to investigate.

For your business, the same approach can cover orders, stock, supplier prices and enquiries.

Check the feeds that need attention before relying on their outputs.

Livability heat map

Compare areas using the same information.

Schools, deprivation, earnings and rents are often considered separately. We combined open data into a national map using 5 km squares, making those differences easier to explore together.

It gives people a starting point for comparing locations and deciding where to investigate further.

Explore national patterns, then look more closely at an area.

Other problems we can help you solve.

Back up pricing advice with comparable evidence.

We can bring recent sales and listings near a site into a comparables pack, with the relevant details and sources alongside each other. This gives your team and client a clearer basis for discussing a price.

Compare the issues across a portfolio of sites.

We can bring planning, flood, nearby grid assets and local-area information into one site review. Your team can compare the evidence and identify which questions need further investigation.

Know which AI tools your team uses and what data they touch.

We can build a tool register showing each tool’s purpose, owner, information access and last review. This helps you decide what needs checking and who is responsible.

Check sensitive details before sharing a document.

We can build a browser-based tool that highlights names and identifiers and helps replace them before a document is shared. Your team reviews the suggested changes and the final document.

Give your team a consistent way to use AI.

We can turn useful AI prompts, skills and workflows into a shared, version-controlled set built around your team’s work. We test changes before introducing them, help people use the agreed versions and update them as your needs and tools change.
